Tim
Siegle, President of the Bank and Member of the Board
Tim Siegle became a member of the United Valley Bank team in 1996. He is a graduate of Concordia College and former Branch Manager for State Bank of Fargo. Under his management, United Valley Bank has expanded and remodeled its facilities. UVB opened a branch in Grand Forks, North Dakota, in 1998 and another in 2003. The Argyle State Bank of Argyle Minnesota was purchased in 2004, and became a branch in 2006. The resulting growth strengthens the organization and gives us the opportunity to offer more services to our customers. Tim is a member of the city economic development organization, CII. He serves as President of the North Dakota Bankers Association. Dedication and enthusiasm are the indelible marks of Tim's presence in the bank and the community.

Greg
Mayo, Member of the Board
Greg
Mayo is a third generation contractor whose roots in
the Cavalier area go back to 1923. He is a graduate of
North Dakota State University. Greg, along with brothers
Tim and Joe, own Mayo Construction Company, Inc., a general
contracting firm that specializes in highway asphalt
surfacing and related construction activity. Projects
range throughout the Dakotas and Eastern Montana. The
company is one of the major employers in the Cavalier
area. Greg’s business expertise adds dimension
to the Board of Directors. His family endorses the access
to the outdoors, friendliness and family values of the
Cavalier community.

Pat
Mahar, Chairman of the Board
Pat Mahar is involved in the successful sugar beet industry which is a vital part of the Red River Valley economy. Pat grew up near Hamilton, ND. He graduated from Cavalier High School and began farming with his father in 1953. Today he, his son Scott, and brother Jim operate the farm which includes sugar beets. He has been active in the sugar beet industry in the Red River Valley and was named 2000 National Sugar Beet Grower of the Year. He and his wife Barb reside in Cavalier. They are the parents of 3 grown children, Bill, Scott and David.

Tim
Horpedahl, Grand Forks President and Member of the Board
Tim
is a native of Grand Forks and a graduate of UND. He
has 23 years of banking experience in Grand Forks. His
backgrounds in business, real estate and consumer and
agricultural lending are strong ingredients for a community
bank which needs to provide a wide variety of services
to the public. Tim has an enduring commitment to the
Grand Forks community. He has served in many organizations
and fundraisers for the betterment of his city. He is
a strong addition to the board because of his relationships
with residents of Grand Forks and the business community.

Barry
Hanson, Member of the Board
Barry
joined United Valley Bank in Cavalier in 1999. He serves
as Senior Vice President. His degree in agricultural
economics from NDSU and 21 years in the banking industry
form the background for his current service at United
Valley Bank. His experience, perspective and ability
to analyze technical information make him a vital member
of the board. A native of Northwood, ND, Barry and his
family are active members of the Cavalier community.
Dedication to the community in which they live is a strong
tradition at United Valley Bank and Barry is no exception.

Bert
Olson, Member of the Board
Bert Olson represents years of business experience. A business
graduate of Mayville State University, Bert began his
career in his father’s car dealership and General
Motors franchise in Cavalier. He eventually purchased
and operated the business until he sold it in 1994. Currently,
Bert still services his vast customer base with vehicles,
manages his farmland and operates a trucking business.
His varied knowledge of commerce and agriculture is an
asset to the Board. Bert is a relentless community builder
and sports fan. When there is a major community project
in the planning, you can count on his involvement. His
passion for his community is unmatched.

Robert
Vivatson, Member of the Board
Robert
Vivatson knows agriculture and business. He has a Bachelor
of Science in agriculture from North Dakota State University. His
career began as an Infantry Officer and Airborne Ranger
in the U.S. Army.
Upon completion of duty, he began a farming enterprise "following in
the footsteps of his father." Robert developed his own corporation and
a partnership with his brother Rick, in the production of sugar beets,
potatoes, small grains, edible beans and soybeans. Currently, Robert
serves as chairman of the board of American Crystal Sugar Cooperative.
He has also been a past president of the American Crystal Sugar Growers
Association. Involvement with these organizations mandates travel to
Washington, D.C. and other meeting places.
Robert has an excellent understanding of the linkage between agribusiness,
banking and government.
